ABOUT DUSK / WORLDS WORTH SHARING

A place to create.
A reason to explore.

Dusk brings a game engine, world authoring, and multiplayer hosting into one project. The aim is a connected path from making a place to sharing it in a browser.

THE IDEA

A world can be a room, a garden, a puzzle, or a journey. The tools should help you build the place—and understand what makes it work.

WHAT BELONGS WHERE

An engine with room
for your own identity.

DUSK

The common foundation.

The renderer, simulation, content compiler, SDK, browser player, editor, and world services. Independently implemented in TypeScript, with explicit package boundaries.

YOUR GAME

The world and its voice.

A game supplies its own places, characters, controls, sound, and story through installed presentation contracts. Dusk’s engine packages never import game code.

DARKWIND

A reference, with a life of its own.

The reference game built with Dusk. Its Lantern House, Rain Garden, travelers, and two-seat cart make the engine tangible while keeping a separate game identity.

Production and device scope

Broader performance and device checks remain. The pinned beta’s Docker acceptance awaits an external result. The current shared-play target is two desktop WebGPU travelers.

SOURCE & DOCUMENTATION

Look inside.
Follow a decision.

The source repository contains the engine, games, tools, services, and technical record. The Field Guide preserves the documentation corpus, including dated decisions and captured evidence.

Source availability does not grant rights beyond the repository’s stated terms. Character source attribution and terms are recorded in the art credits.

ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

A field guide, on the web.

The site follows Dusk’s World Survey identity: chalk, ink, mint, technical typography, and a surveyor’s attention to detail. Illustrations are brand artwork; engine screenshots and motion captures are labeled.

Search runs locally in your browser. The site uses self-hosted fonts, optional local storage for preferences, and no analytics, accounts, or remote font services. GitHub links leave this site.
